Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Coffee Rambler ("Coffee Rambler", "we", "us", "our") provides a coffee-focused AI assistant and related tools (the "Service"). Coffee Rambler is a trading name of Keiran Jones. Once a UK limited company is formed, these Terms will apply to that company without affecting your rights under these Terms.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old. If you are between 16 and 18, you confirm you have parental or guardian consent to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Plans and features

We currently offer the following plans:

• Coffee Curious (Free): AI coffee assistant with up to 30 questions per month. Includes brewing guidance, origin, and equipment information. No credit card required.
• Coffee Enthusiast (Paid): Everything in Coffee Curious, plus unlimited AI questions, brew diary, taste pattern analysis, and personalized advice.
• Coffee Pro (Paid): Everything in Coffee Enthusiast, plus professional tools including harvest calendars, supplier research, and import guidance.

Beta access: We may offer beta access to selected users at our discretion. We may modify or withdraw beta access at any time.

5. Trials

We may offer free trials. Trial length and conditions will be shown at sign-up. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions.

6. Promotional codes and discount vouchers

Promotional codes and discount vouchers are subject to the following conditions: codes are valid for one use per customer on a new subscription only; discounts apply to the first billing period only unless otherwise stated; codes cannot be combined with other offers; Coffee Rambler reserves the right to withdraw or modify promotional offers at any time without notice; codes have no cash value.

7. Billing, renewal, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the billing period. You can cancel at any time from within the app. Upon cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.

8. Refunds and cooling-off rights

• Monthly plans: Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable once charged.
• Annual plans: Initial annual subscriptions may be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
• Renewal Cooling-off: In accordance with UK consumer law (DMCCA 2026), you have a 14-day cooling-off period following each automatic renewal of an annual subscription. If you cancel within this 14-day window, you are entitled to a full refund of the renewal fee.
• Consumer rights: If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, nothing in these Terms limits your mandatory statutory rights.

9. Use of the Service and acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the Service;
• Upload content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Interfere with or overload the Service infrastructure.
• Use the label scanner feature to photograph anything other than coffee bag labels. You must not submit images containing personal information, faces, private property, or any content unrelated to coffee products.

10. User content and output

Your Content: You retain ownership of content you upload (notes, images, documents). You grant us a licence to process this content solely to operate and improve the Service.

Output: Between you and Coffee Rambler, and to the extent permitted by law, you own all "Output" (the specific responses and data generated for you by the AI). We assign to you all right, title, and interest in and to Output.

11. AI-generated outputs and transparency

AI Interaction: You acknowledge that you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system.

Disclaimers: Outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate. The Service provides general coffee-related information only and does not provide professional, medical, or safety advice. You are responsible for how you use any information provided.

Label scanner: The label scanner feature uses AI to extract information from coffee bag images. Extracted fields are pre-filled into the bean form for your review — nothing is saved automatically. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any pre-filled information before saving. Coffee Rambler is not liable for inaccurate extractions. The label scanner is available to Coffee Enthusiast plan subscribers only and is subject to a daily usage limit.

12. Intellectual property and brand

All intellectual property rights in the Service (excluding User Content and Output), including the Coffee Rambler name, branding, and software, belong to us. We grant you a limited, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal or internal business purposes.

13. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure (hosting and AI providers). We are not responsible for outages or failures caused by these third parties.

14. Availability and changes

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify or discontinue features at any time. We will notify you of material changes that affect your paid plan.

15. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we handle your personal data.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

17. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or applicable law.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

20. Data rights and AI processing

AI Training: Your personal data is not used to train our AI models.

Portability and Deletion: You may request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format or ask us to delete your account. Deletion requests will be actioned within 30 days.

UK/EU Rights: You have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data under applicable data protection laws.
