Can I follow a brew recipe?
Use, create, and share brew recipes, or use the timer to pre-fill your brew diary. This guide shows you how the brew recipe functionality works.
Demo example
Description
Coffee Rambler AI lets you follow brew recipes, create your own, and pre-fill brew diary entries from timer presets. You can also share your custom recipes in the community library so other users can copy and save them.
How to create a brew recipe
- Open Recipes and Brew Timer (stopwatch icon) and stay on the Me tab.
- In Your presets, tap Add to open the new brew preset sheet.
- Enter a recipe name, choose a brew method, and optionally select gear from your saved equipment.
- Add your brew targets: dose (g), water (ml), temperature (C), and optional grind notes.
- Build your stages with label, instruction, timer duration, and optional pour volume. You can add or remove stages at any time.
- Set the last stage to 0s if you want an open-ended finish, then save.
How recipe sharing works
- While creating or editing your own preset, turn on Share with community.
- Your shared preset appears in the Community tab for other ramblers to browse.
- Other users can open the preset detail, tap Try to run it immediately, or tap Save to clone it into their own presets.
- Cloned presets become personal copies, so users can edit them for their own setup.
- If a user has reached their preset limit, they need to delete one before saving another community recipe.
How timer pre-fill works
- Start a guided recipe and brew as normal. On the final step, tap Stop & log brew.
- The app sends you to the diary with fields pre-filled from the recipe and timer session.
- Guided logging pre-fills brew time, title/notes, method, dose, water, temperature, and selected equipment (when available on the preset).
- Stopwatch logging pre-fills brew time and can include method and dose if you entered those in timer mode.
- Review and edit any pre-filled values before saving your diary entry.
